Greetings!

*waves*

Why hello there!

I am not in a typing sort of mood today ... I keep making mistakes, and therefore abusing my backspace key.

I just thought I should tell y'all (that was my nonexistent southern accent there...) that I'm not dead. I've just been asleep. A lot. And at school. And reading. And nurturing my growing coffee addiction. [CAFFIENE!]

But, I am not dead. Thank golly goshness...

My friend Madde is here!

Type something, Madde:

Hello.........;)

WOAH! That is literary genius, Madde.

So ... guess what I bought online the other day?

Well...?

GUESS!

I said GUESS, not 'wait for me to tell you!'

Just kidding. I got this:

A MOCKINGJAY NECKLACE!
It hasn't arrived yet, but when it does I will be sure to tell you. If anybody is actually interested in this ... =P
So, that's all for now folks.

Ciao!

Phantom of the Opera

Oh wow ...

Last night, I watched Phantom of the Opera, and I am ... gobsmacked. It was a delight: the costumes, the songs, the characters, the very idea is stunning. I adore it.

For those who don't know, it is a movie based on the play, based on a book. it is set in Paris, a bit over a hundred years ago. Underneath the Opera house, there is a legendary Phantom, whose face he covers with a mask. He teaches this girl, Christine, to sing. Christine thinks she has been visited by the Angel of Music. He falls in love with her, but she is also in love with this guy called Raoul or something ... anyway, a lot of stuff happens and I love it!!
My favourite song from it is Masquerade.
Masquerade
Paper faces on parade
Every face a different shade
Masquerade

The atmosphere is just brilliant. I adore the whole thing!
If you haven't seen it, I recomend you go to your nearest Dvd rental ... place ... and borrow it now!! Immediately!
Or else.

Shiver!

Yesterday I went to my friend's house, and, as usual, went home with a book to read: Shiver, by Maggie Stiefvater. I'm only onto page 107, but I Love it!!!

It's a romance story, about a girl who lives near these woods, with wolves in it. She watches the wolves; she always has. One of the wolves watches back.

***SPOILERS***

The girl, Grace, discovers that the wolves are werewolves, who turn into humans during the summer, and- um, sorry if I just gave you a million spoilers. Ok, I'm going to put a spoiler warning at the top of this part of the post. :)

***End of spoilers***

Anyway, I haven't finished it yet, but it's definetely going to be one of my favourite books. It has the most amazing ... atmosphere to it. It's beautiful.

I'll write more once I've finished it. :)

Twilight: a ... review?

Sooo ... fellow blogians! Let us be glad, let us rejoicify--
*cough*.
Sorry. I'll stop singing Wicked songs now.
I've been singing songs from Wicked all day today. It's, like, sing-Wicked-Song-Day for me... :D
Ok, so, back onto topic:

I said that when I finished Twilight I'd write a review, right?

Well I shouldn't have said that, because I'm horrible at writing book reviews. I just ... can't organize what I write, it just mostly comes out, in a big wave of words... SO! Instead, I'm going to make two lists. One for things I did like and things I didn't like. Otherwise, it will ... not even be half a review. This is a half review.
The List:

Good

-The plot was a fairly good idea. I'm not sure if I'd call it well-thought out or not, but it was a really good idea.

-ALICE CULLEN. She's awesome. Probably the best (so-far) developed character out of them all. She's ... cool. Very cool.

-The action scenes, like, near the end in the ballet studio are great!!!

Bad

-BELLA: I hatehatehated her. She's just so- *ugh* -whiney, and stupid, and generally just annoying!

-Edward. Weird. He's not as bad as Bella, but I don't like him.
-The fact that vampires sparkle in the sun. Can you say 'WEIRD'?. I mean, like, what. the. hell?
What sort of idea is that?!

-Stephenie Meyer's style of writing really, really BUGS me. She just goes on and on about ... every freaking thing! I love description, but that was mucchh more monotonous than description!! To me description is metaphors and similes and awesomeadjectives. NOT ... not ... not whatever you call this!

So, there you have it! My opinion on Twilight!!!

LAPTOP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OHMYGEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!

I AM HYPERVENTILATING RIGHT NOW.

OHMAGAWSSHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, so I had this deal with my parents (...well, they bribed me...) that if I can touch type 40 words per minute, they will buy me a laptop. GUESS WHAT I JUST DID???!!!!

I. typed. 41 WORDS IN ONE MINUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LAPTOP, here. I. COME!!!!!!!

Ok, so I have no idea what sort I'm getting or anything, but here is a picture of one, just because. :D

My SPIFFING hat!

So ... I've had a lot of fun today!
Know why? No?

Weeelll .... I found THE coolest hat, buried in the depths of our hat cupboard (yes, we have a hat cupboard ... sort of). So I've been wearing it around, feeling oh-so-cool. My entire family is insanely jealous of my stylin' hat. I suppose I should be modest, but who can be modest with this stunning object placed atop my head? It is truly a spiffing hatical.

So, I thought I should bless you with the sight of this darrrling hat.

I had a lotttt of fun blacking out my face in above picture! Like, like in newspapers! :D Only I bet they don't use paint.
Isn't it, just, the coolest hat ... ever?

Thought so. ;)

DARNITURE!!!!

(Sorry, Joss, I stole your word...).
So, for the past few weeks, I've been saving up to buy this awesome Mockingjay necklace, made by somebody on Etsy (this website where people buy and sell pretty handmade things).
So then, a few days ago, I came on to Etsy to look at it (besotted, I was!), to find that *poof* it's gone. Disappeared, bought, along with, like, 12 of that seller's other Mockingjay necklaces.
Who, may I ask, buys, like, a squillion of almost the same thing?! WHO?
Ok, sorry. They obviously had no idea that somebody wanted to buy it. I am quite annoyed, but am probably being unreasonable. I still, however, feel the urge to strangle someone or something ...
I WAS ENGAGED TO THAT NECKLACE!!!!!!! *cough* sorry, again. It's just that it was so pretty ... and shiny ... and lovely ... and steampunk-y. :(
Excuse me while I mourn the loss of my darling fiancee.
*walks away sobbing*
*comes back later, with red eyes*
I must admit that this is slightly self-centered of me, and how were they to know, but ... it was the love of my life, and now it's ... goneeeee....

Wicked ... again.

Once again, I must absolutely stress my adoration for Wicked: the musical.
A. D. O. R. A. T. I. O. N.
I love it x ... 4095209674986091467298!
Everything about it is fantastic, flawless, beautiful. I feel almost like it was made for me. It's stunning, truly fantastic. I spend so much time thinking about it.
Honestly, it's stunning. I cannot describe how fantastic it is. It rocked my socks off. ALL of them (well ... more like both of them ... and my shoes!).
It just has so much ... depth, and yet is still funny sometimes. ('well we can't all come and go by bubble now, can we?').
I just wish it was in Sydney longerrr.... :(

Hairstyles.

I've been thinking recently about getting a new hairstlye, but I'm not sure what.
I was thinking maybe a fringe or a side fringe. Something like Demi Lovato. I don't particularily like her, but I do like her hair. I think it would look good on me, since my hair looks a lot like hers but lighter (...and without the fringe).
So yeah.
What do you think?
I would upload a photo of me, but I don't really want to show my face online. There could be stalkers anywhere! *hides*

WICKED!!!!!!!

I've been thinking lots recently about Wicked (the awesomest musical on the planet).

I've seen it twice, I have 2 shirts and the CD.

Whenever I turn the cd on to listen to it, even just a little bit, I end up dancing around the room, singing along with the songs, especially One Short Day (I love "who's the sage who bravely sailed out to save our posteriors?'), Defy Gravity, and No Good Deed (Let him never die...). IT'S SO AWESOME!!!!

I'm wearing one of my shirts, the Defy Gravity one. I have 'I heart Oz' and 'Defy Gravity'.
A few weeks ago I read the book, which the musical was based on. My opinion? Some parts were AMAZING, and some parts were .... weird. The musical OWNS it. It's amazing the whole way through. :D The book is a fair bit sadder, less funny, much more for adults, whereas the musical appeals to all age ranges. Both my mum and my 9-year-old sister love it.

It's a stunning musical, and ... wow.
It's so sad that it's leaving Sydney in September, because I WISH I could see it again!!! I really want emerald city glasses. :D

Guess my new obsession!

BAGELS!
BAGUETTES!
MORE BAGELS!
MORE BAGUETTES!
So many more, in fact, that I have been told I smell like bagels, and that (according to 'you are what you eat') I am a bagel! I love bagels. Plain, blueberry, cinnamon & raisin, etcetera. Plain, with cream cheese, sometimes even smoked salmon. Don't ask why, but I adoree bagels!

Baguettes are a newer thing: I just love their, their ... comical-ness. The way they're so ... I don't know ... they're the sort of thing you see on tv, or maybe read about: the typical, French-style thing. You barely think of them as a regular food. Maybe for a treat or something, but they're just not normal. That's why I love them so much!

Times

See how it says at the end of each blog post when it was posted?
I didn't actually post them at those times. :)
I'm in a different time zone, so it shows up differently.
So ... yeah... :P

My Novel...

Currently, I have been working on a novelling project, a story set in medieval times about a girl living by herself in the forest. She runs into another group of travellers, escaping the town of Ospizio where Will (one of the travellers) would have to become a soldier or hangman if he stayed.
I honestly have no idea where I'm going with the story, but it seems to be telling itself more than I'm telling it, y'know? So you probably don't know ... ah well. :)
Anyway, I've gotten some people on Nano to draw some of my characters. I thought I'd share with you some of my favourites:

So here are some drawings of my characters that people on Nano drew. There's Nymph (the girl from the forest), Will (William), and his sister, Alys.

Bella Italia!

Italy.

One of my greatest obsessions.

I love it. I love everything about it.

The culture, the history, the language, the architecture, the food ... heck, the shape is awesome (a boot!)...

One day, I hope to take a gap year and travel Europe. Especially Italy. I plan to travel the countryside, maybe on a Vespa. I want to sleep in youth hostels, spend the day with a camera around my neck. I want to go to museams and art galleries, buy some bread cheese and fruit for lunch, eat it in a park.

In particular, I want to visit Venice. Venice, with winged lions and stone angels, gondolas, vaporetti, crumbling alleyways and streets without names. A thousand bridges. Ancient, crumbling ... the gateway to the orient. I love it. I love the masks, the carnevale ... it is beautiful. I've heard it smells bad, but I honestly don't care how it smells. As long as one day I go there, I will be happy.

Rue

I thought I'd share with you a recent drawing of mine:

Rue, from The Hunger Games!

I hope you like it. I was also going to post another drawing, but my scanner died. :( Stupid scanner!

Ohmygee! :D
In the last while since I checked this blog, I have gained 4 followers! I feel so epic right now. Seriously.
Thanks to those four awesome people who made me feel loveddd!

So...

This blog hasn't even been in existence for 24 hours yet, and I'm addicted to it!
Sad thing is, I'm not really sure what to write about.
My Life? ... way too boring!
Books? ... meh.
Writing? ... yeah, I could do that...
Nanowrimo? Falls under the category of writing. And it's not Nano yet.
Randomness? If I wrote about randomness, anyone who reads this blog will go insane.

Alas, I am still undecided.
I guess I'll just write whatever.
:P
I'm not too sure (if truth be told) why I'm getting so into this 'blogging' thing. I mean, I have ... *drumroll*... 0 followers!!!
*crowd cheers*
Yaaayyyy!!!!

....I've gottta get me some followers!

My Rabbits

Introducing...

Pipkin and Sprocket, or resident bunnies!

(Pipkin has floppy ears, Sprocket has pointy ('uppy') ears).

Pipkin, on the left, is quite crazy. She is posessive of, um, everything, and growls at everyone who gets in her way. :)

Sprocket, on the right, is a very mild, affectionate bunny. He sometimes licks you, which is exceedingly cute!

MY SHOES!

Call me self-centered, but oh how I love my shoes. :)

Twilight...

I'm reading Twilight right now, and I'm not sure what to make of it. One thing for sure: It does not live up to the hype. Bella is completely emty-headed. She is a 2-dimensional character, and bores me past death, into eternal agony and boredom. Edward is a creep.
Maybe it would be a good book if it was half the size it is. Don't get me wrong: I love big books! But it's just so rambling, and dully descriptive. I love descriptive books too! But Twilight is so dull, so ... blegh!
I'll give my full review once I've finished it.

My First Blog Post..

Honestly, I don't know what to write ... I made this thing up on a whim, because I was bored, and I like the idea of a blog. I barely know what I'm doing; how this site works.
Well then, I guess a little introducing is needed.
I am Beth.
I like to write, read, and sometimes draw.
I love travelling, and one day hope for the chance to visit Venice. :D
Last year I completed NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), with a novel of sixteen-thousand-and-something words.
I LOVE The Hunger Games Trilogy, and the Inkheart Trilogy. I have no idea what it is with me and trilogies...

That's all for now!
I'm off to go figure out how this blogger doodad works!
Ciao!
